On Oct 13, the Spanish-language content brand Max y Noelia, run by Mexican blogger Max and his wife Noelia, launched a culture and communication company in Haikou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to promote Chinese culture and help connect Chinese brands with the Spanish-speaking world.

The company aims to create new media content for Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide and promote Chinese culture internationally, while exploring the fusion of cultural exchange and cross-border trade.

Since 2020, Max and Noelia have been capturing their journeys across China in videos, focusing on language, travel and cross-cultural interactions. Max y Noelia now boasts over 10 million followers across all platforms, with 7.8 million subscribers on their main international social media account.

The company targets Spanish-speaking audiences globally, offering services like documenting Chinese cities, promoting Chinese culture internationally, managing overseas social media accounts and facilitating brand communication between China and other countries.

"We're not just making videos; we want to build a cultural bridge that shows the world a real and lively China," Max said, adding that they want to connect Chinese brands with the Spanish-speaking world and encourage more international visitors to explore, study and seek business opportunities in China.

When asked why he picked Hainan for his company, Max said that he and Noelia biked around the island earlier this year, visiting places like Haikou, Wenchang, Wanning and Sanya. "We fell in love with the island. After spending a few days in Haikou, we saw its potential to attract global investment," he added.

The opportunities provided by Hainan Free Trade Port policies also boosted their confidence. "The registration process was quicker and easier than we had imagined, and we received substantial support from government departments," Max noted.

He highlighted that Haikou combines city convenience with a relaxed lifestyle. Its parks, sea breeze, cuisine and open vibe showed them new possibilities. "Haikou has significant growth potential. We believe it can become a hub for great ideas, entrepreneurial ventures, and investment opportunities."

Max is far from the only international content creator deeply impressed by the city of Haikou. Venezuelan blogger Rafael is even more enthusiastic. "Haikou is beautiful, and we felt welcomed wherever we went. The city is open to people from around the world, so why not move to Haikou to invest?" Rafael said.

Brazilian blogger Cymye added that Haikou is comfortable and modern, making it ideal for both business and leisure. "For expats, it's a great choice!"

Lin Mengyi, deputy director of the Third Investment Promotion Department at Haikou International Investment Promotion Bureau, revealed that her department had provided services like policy consultation, registration assistance, inter-departmental coordination and resource connection to facilitate the launch of Max's company, hoping that it will draw more international content creators and cross-border cultural industry teams to Haikou, fostering new international communication ventures in the Hainan FTP.
