"If most foreigners came here and spent like two weeks, and actually went out for Chinese meals, Chinese food, order stuff online. And then they'll see, oh my god!" says Paul O'Sullivan, a North American educator and entrepreneur who lives in China.
As the co-founder of ATM English, Paul has been working in China for a long time. He is impressed by the country's modern infrastructure, especially its convenient transportation. In the US, Paul had to drive ten hours a day across states due to the lack of high-speed rail. In China, a two-hour high-speed train ride gets him where he needs to go, or he can simply book a ride with Didi. The cost of living also surprised him.
Now settled in Suzhou, Paul enjoys the city's balance between modern infrastructure and affordable living. With proximity to Shanghai, high-speed rail, and an international airport, Suzhou is an ideal place to work and travel. Paul believes many foreigners don't know how efficient and accessible life in China is. He encourages more people to visit and see it for themselves.
