From January to September this year, a total of 254,400 talents piled into Jinan, an increase of 28,500 year-on-year. Currently, the total number of talents in Jinan has passed the 2.58 million mark and is growing steadily.

Population is an important indicator of a city's vitality, strength and its attractiveness from the perspectives of talents. In the past 10 years, Jinan's permanent resident population rose from 8.11 million in 2010 to 9.2 million in 2020.

Jinan is evolving into one of the most desirable places for talent as China consistently works to improve the talent system and is one of the nations with the most extensive and abundant talent resources. Seventy percent of the population that grew between 2010 and 2020 in Jinan holds a bachelor's degree or higher.

Talent resources are increasingly becoming a strategic resource to promote economic and social development, and in recent years, Jinan's talent policy has been upgraded. Incentives, including favorable talent settlement policies and housing subsidies have been issued. At the same time, Jinan is open to overseas talents, and is actively implementing the national 12 exit and entry clauses.

As Jinan accelerates its pace to attract talents, the city is becoming more and more important for the development of China and Shandong province.
